Listen up America: everybody can’t teach. It doesn’t matter how good you are with kids or how much you know about a subject. Teaching is as much an art as it is a science, yet it’s the only profession that everybody feels like they can do. Teachers are licensed and certified professionals and that expertise needs to be valued. Too often I see righteous individuals (the irony), churches and even parents attempt to take on a job that they quite frankly aren’t qualified for. Consider transferring this DIY attitude to any other civil service. Would your bring your child to your church hospital? Can I call you up for a good old fashioned citizen’s arrest? How about you defend yourself in a court of law? Stop it. Some things are best left to the pros. Lend your support to schools instead. Otherwise, we get Jimmy running the classroom, and that’s just a bad idea. Trust me on this one.

Nothing has ever left the Apple compound before Apple was ready. We didn’t even *see* the iPad until it hit stores. We had no idea what it would even be. That said, some guy who works for Apple was toting around Apple’s newest development and just happened to leave it at the bar after having a few drinks? I don’t think so. Either all of this is Apple crafted “buzz”, or Apple has a leg up on the secret service and there are Apple agents everywhere testing out gadgets in disguise a la 007. Check out the full story over at Gizmodo.

The phone looks good though.

After a vicious viral spam attack, Poor Righteous Teech returns from blog purgatory. I sincerely thank those of you who have stuck with me throughout, and promise to deliver even better content than before, sans nasty javascript viruses and redirects. PRT.com has evolved as well. Categories have been cleaned up to better reflect their content, and the blog will also cover various aspects of urban education as my personal and professional worlds continue to merge. Unfortunately, my archived content was casualty of the war with the spam. The virus itself is buried in the databases that serve that very content, which is what made the virus extra nasty. Take a look around and let me know what you think of the new digs. I only ask for comments as housewarming gifts. Best-
